After several Suggestions and Observations made
by the several Gents present
It was moved by Mr. Sturch and Seconded
by Mr. Wright.
That a Subscription to Indemnify Persons
Resident within this Parish from Serving in the
Supplementary Militia from this time till the First
day of December 1797 be Received, that such Subscription
be Five Shillings from Poor Persons not worth £100
Ten Shillings and Six pence from Persons worth
£100 and under £500 and a Subscription of One
Pound Eleven Shillings and Sixpence from
Persons worth upwards of £500.
That on Payment of such Sums into the
hands of the Overseers Receipts be given undertaking
to provide Substitutes for them
That the Persons subscribing the Five
Shillings and Ten Shillings and Six pence do make
Oath if Required that they are not Possessed of an Estate in
Lands Goods or Money of the Value of £100. or £500..
according to the Subscription they Pay.
The Question being put It was Carried
unanimously in the Affirmative
Resolved that Mr. Jennings be Treasurer and
that a Compensation be Allowed him.
