At a Meeting of the Committee for Paving Elected and Appointed
pursuant to an Act of Parliament intitled An Act to amend and
render more effectual Etc. in the Vestry Room of St. Clement Danes
on Friday the 24th. day of February 1775.

The Churchwardens having informed this Committee that at a
Vestry held in this Parish on Thursday the 9th. Instant the Following Persons were chosen
Committeemen for this Parish for the Year ensuing for the purposes of carrying into

Proposed and Agreed that Mr. Vaughan take the Chair

The Minutes of the last Meeting Read and confirmed.

Proposed and agreed that Mr. Matthew Chessall be Clerk to this
Committee, George Nixon< no role > Inspector and John George< no role > Collector at their Salary or
Payment as last Year from Lady day next.

A Bill from the Parish of St. Martin in the Fields on this Committee for
New Paving that part of the Strand that lies opposite to St. Martins Parish amounting
to £255..5s..8d. which being read Ordered that the same be referred to Mr. Bannister
for him to Report the Quantity of the Paving therein done and that he Report at
the next Meeting.

The Committee having in pursuance of the Commissioners order of the 24th.
January last Advertised for a Contract for Repairing so much of the Strand as lies
in this Parish with the best Guernsey Granite of not less than 9 Inches Deep for
21. or 31. Years in which Contract the Contractor is not to lay down any of the Old
Materials which are not of 6. Inches Deep And William Meredith< no role > & Thos. Lovett< no role >
having according to the Advertisement proposed to Keep the whole of the the Carriage
way in Repair for 21. or 31. Years at 6d. per Yard per Annum And William Staines< no role >
having proposed to do the like for 21. Years at 5d. per Yard per Annum And
Robert Campbell< no role > having proposed to do the like for 21. Years at 4d. per Yard
per Annum payable Quarterly And this Committee having taken into Consideration
