possess or enjoy any Land Ground House Etc. within so much of Burleigh Street as
lies in this Parish and also in Nagshead Court and Milk Yard so far as the same
Places are respectively new Paved which Rate is to Commence from Michaelmas
last for half a Year then next and at the same time signed a Duplicate thereof
and appointed Mr. John George< no role > to Collect the same.

Also another Rate of Sixpence in the Pound upon all and every Person or
Persons who Inhabit hold use occupy possess or enjoy any Land Ground House Etc
within Cooks Court and Devereux Court or either of them in this Parish so far as the
same places are respectively new Paved which Rate is to Commence from Christmas last
for one Quarter then next and at the same nine signed a Duplicate thereof and
appointed the said John George to Collect the same.

Ordered that the Church wardens of this Parish be requested to hold a Vestry
on Thursday the 9th. Instant (being the 2d. Thursday in this Month) between the Hours
of ten in the Morning and two in the afternoon for Electing and appointing a proper
Number of Householders Resident in this Parish to be a Committee for the better
carrying the purposes of the several Acts of Parliament into Execution for Paving
Cleansing and Lighting this Parish for one Year from thence next ensuing pursuant
to the Statute in that Case made.

The Commissioners order of the 24th. January last relative to the advertiseing
for Repairing the Strand being Read and the Clerk having prepared the following
Advertisement ordered that it be incerted in the daily Advertisor

Parish of Saint Clement Danes

Notice is hereby given that the Committee for Paving Repairing Cleansing
and Lighting the said Parish will meet in the Vestry Room of the said Parish on Friday
the 24th. day of February Instant at six of the Clock in the afternoon precisely to
receive Proposals Sealed up and to Contract from Midsumer next for finding all
Materials labor and cleaning away the Rubbish and Repairing the Carriage way
pavements of so much of the Strand as lies in this parish for 21. or 31. Years in a
good substantial and Workman like manner with the best Guernsey Granite of not
less than 9. Inches Deep in which place the Contractors are not to lay down any of the
old materials which are not of six Inches Deep and The Contractors in their
Proposals are to distinguish the prices for the different Periods.

The Contractors to give sufficient Security for the due performance of their
Contract.

Resolved that the New River and York Buildings Company be informed
that this Committee intend to Advertise and Contract for Repairing so much of the
Strand as lies in this Parish from Midsumer next for 21. or 31. Years for which
purpose they will meet the 24th. Instant precisely at Six o'Clock in the Evening in the
Vestry Room of this Parish and that the Clerk send a Copy of this Minute to each

of the said Companys Secretary's.
