(to wit) Martha Rogers< no role > This name instance is in set 635. This set is in the group(s): MothersCD . Singlewoman
aged 24 years and upwards Upon Oath
saith That She never was Married That She
lived as an hired yearly Servant with Mr. Walton
at the Bull in Milford Lane in the Parish of
St Clement Danes in the said County for about
two years at the Annual Wages of £4:10 for
the first and £6 for the Second years that She
quitted that Service about two years ago and hath
not obtained any subsequent legal Settlement
and this Deponent further saith that on the 23d
day of December 1791 she was delivered of a
Male Bastard Child named Richard which
hath since been Christened by the Name of
Richard (as this Deponent hath been informed &
believes) that the said Child was born in the
House of Richard Hunt< no role > called the Cheshire
Street situate in Milford Lane aforesaid in the
said parish That the said Child is likely to become
chargeable to the said parish act his Deponent
is unable to maintain the same and this
Deponent Saith that one Richard Portsmouth< no role >
a Coal Carman to Mr Wood of Scotland Yard
Westminster is the only real and true father
of such Child of which She was not so delivered
as aforesaid her he having had carnal knowledge
of this Deponents Body on or about the 19th
