(to wit) Benjn Newman< no role > one of the Beadles of
the parish of St Clement Danes in the said
County and Liberty on behalf of Ann Spicer< no role > (now Ill
and deceased) Maketh and Oath saith That he hath
been informed which he verily believes to be true that
the said Ann Spicer< no role > is aged about 68 Years was
Married to her late Husband Matthew Spicer< no role > at the
parish Church of St Leonard Shoreditch about 24 Years
ago that previous thereto and while her said Husband
was single he served an Apprenticeship with a
Weaver in the parish & St Matthew Bethnal Green
in the said County of Middlesex [..] and since
the Expiration thereof he [..] never [..] obtained
any subsequent legal Settlement that her said Husband Died
[..] several Years ago in the Workhouse belonging to
the said parish of St Matthew Bethnal Green that he
was removed [..] to that parish from
the parish of wherein Eagle and Child Alley in
Shoe Lane is situate (in which Alley the [..]
said Ann Spicer< no role > with her said Husband then resided) about 21 Years ago and by Virtue thereof taken into
the Workhouse of the said parish of St. Matthew
Bethnal Green and maintained therein several
Years that since her said Husband's Decease
she hath [..] not been Married nor acquired any
legal Settlement in her own Right that she has
six Children by her said Husband all out of
