to wit Mary Day< no role > Aged about Twenty years on her
Oath says she never was married Rented House or paid Taxes
Says she lived a hired yearly Servt . with one Mr. Wilmott a
Plaistererer near Battersea Bridge in the Parish of St. Luke
Chelsea for 18 Months at the yearly Wages of £3. hath quitted
her said Service about three years ago and after quitting her
said Service she went to live with one Mrs. Cannon in Stanhope
Street to learn the Mantua Making Business for one year &
gave Eight Guineas to her said Mistress to teach her theBusin
Trade as by a Pretended Indre may Appear but as the same
in neither Indented or Inrolled at the Stamp Office the Indre is
Void and could gain no Settlement thereby as she has been
Informed & believes And further on her Voluntary Oath Says
she is pregnant with Child or Children which is or are likely
to be born a Bastard or Bastards & to become Chargeable to the
said Parish of St. Clement Danes (she being poor &
unable to maintain the same when born) And that one Thos
Thos. Field< no role > Clerk to a Proctor at No.5 Doctors Commons is
the Father thereof he having had Carnal knowledge of her
Body at the Bull & Gate near Little Turnstile Holbourn sometimes
in the Month of June last but the Particular day she dose not
now remember & at one or. time afterwards at the same place
at one of which times he got her with Child of the Child or
Children of which she is now pregnant and that the said
Thos. Field< no role > & no or Person did beget the same & that he is
the real & true father thereof
