to wit Sarah Barrett< no role > aged about Thirty five Years on her
Oath says she never was married Rented House or paid Taxes
says she lived in the Capacity of a Servant with one Mrs.
Sherbrooke in Norfolk Street in the Strand in the Parish
of St. Clement Danes in the County of Middlesex for Twenty
Months or thereabouts but received no Wages for such servitude
except Meat Drink Washing Lodging & pocket Money
which she believes might amount to Three Pounds & upwards hath
quitted the said Mrs. Sherbrooks Place about Christmas last since
which time she hath gained no other Settlement than as aforsd.
And further on her Oath says that On the 24th. day of Augt. last
she was delived of a Female Bastard Child in the Hospital in
Store Street Tottenham Court Road which hath since been
baptized Elizabeth< no role > and is now become Chargeable to the said
Parish of St. Clement Danes And further says that one
John Ebeck< no role > Clerk to Mr. Loyd in Chancery Lane and who lodge
at Mr. Madden in Bell yard is the Father thereof he having had
Carnal knowledge of her Body at her Lodgings in Bell yard
sometime in the Month of Novr. last but the Particular day
she does not now remember and at sevl. different times
afterwards at one of which times he got her with Child of the
female Bastard Child of which she was so delivered and that
the saidEbeck and no other Person did beget the
same and that he is the real & true father thereof
