never was married Rented House or Paid Taxes Says she lived a hired
Yearly Servant with one Mr. Davis an Attorney at Law at No. 26
in Old Lincolns Inn in the Parish of St. Andrew Holbourn for
sevl. years at the yearly Wages of Six Guineas hath quitted her
said Service upwards of Four years ago since which time she hath
gained no other Settlemt. And further on her Oath says that
on the 18th. day of May 1783 she was delivered of a Female Bastard
Child which was soon afterwds. baptized by the name of Sarah< no role >
and is become Chargeable to the said Parish of St. Clement Danes
she being Poor & unable to maintain the same And further says
that one John Davis< no role > an Attorney late of No.2 Lyons Inn & who Uses
the Fountain in Clare Street is the father thereof he having had
Carnal knowledge of her Body for sevl. years last past at one of which
times he got her with Child of the Female Bastard Child of which she
was so delivered as aforesaid and that the said John Davis< no role > & no other
Person did beget the same & that he is the real & true father
thereof.
