never was married Rented House or paid Taxes Says
she lived a hired Yearly Servant with one Mr. Davis an
Attorney at Law at No. 26 in Old Lincolns Inn in the Parish
St. Andrew Holbourn for Sevl. Years at the Yearly Wages
of Six Guineas hath quitted her said Service upwards of
3 Years ago since which time she hath gained no other
Subsequent Settlemt. And further on her Oath says that
on the 7th. day of May 1778 she was delivered of a Male
Bastard Child which was soon afterwds. baptized by the
name of Joseph< no role > and is become Chargeable to the same
Parish of St. Clement Danes she being Poor & unable to maintain the same and
further says that one John Davis< no role > an Attorney No.2 Lyon
Inn & who Uses the fountain in Clare Street is the father
thereof he having had Carnal Knowledge of her Body [..]
sevl. Years last past at one of which times he got her with
Child of the male Bastard Child of which she was so delivered
as afsd. and that the sd. John Davis< no role > & no other Person did
beget the same & that he is the real & true father thereof
