Susannah Watson< no role > This name instance is in set 209. Aged about 27 Years on her Oath says she never
was Married Rented House or paid Taxes says she lived a hired
Yearly Servant to one Mr. Porter a Cook in Devereux Court in
the Parish of Saint Clement Danes in the County of Middlesex
upwards of three Years at the Yearly Wages of £4..10s..0d hath
quitted her said service about Ten Years ago since which time she
hath gained no other Subsequent Settlement And further upon her
Oath says that in the Month of March 1772 she was brought to bed
of a Female Bastard Child in the House of one Farrall a Cork
Cutter in Clements Lane which hath since been Baptized by the
Name of Sarah Ann< no role > And that in the Month of Decr. 1775 she was
delivered of another Female Bastard Child in the House of one Mr.
Holton in Wych Street which hath since been Baptized by the
Name of Mary< no role > both of which are likely to become Chargeable to the
said Parish she being Poor and unable to Maintain the same and
that one John Hicks< no role > a Copper Plate Printer who now works at
one Mr. Hambletons in St- John's Passage near Hicks's Hall is the
Father of Both the said Bastard Children he having had Carnal
Knowledge of her Body for Ten Years last past and that the said
John Hicks< no role > and no other Person did beget the same and that he is
the real and true Father thereof
