Mary Brown< no role > This name instance is in set 1338. aged upwards of 70 Years on her Oath
says she never was married that she lived as a hired
yearly Servant with one Messrs. Calverts Taylors in
Howard Street in the Parish of St. Clement Danes in the
County of Middx for 29 Years at the Yearly Wages of £4
that upon the Death of Mrs. Calvert she left this Examinant
her house for the Remr. of the Lease then to come that she
lived there in upwards of 10 Years and paid all parish
Taxes due for the same after the Rate of £30 Pr. Ann. that
she afterwards sold the same to one Mr. Pearson but for what
Sum of Money she cannot setforth but says she had £800
in the 3 P Cent Consolidated Annuities which she has lived on
for upwards of this 20 Years till the same was Exhausted
to £50 and that she soldout the same at Lady Day last
for about forty three pounds and that she has no Annuity or
other Income whatever except what she has remaining
of the sd. last mentd. £43 and that after quitting the above
mentioned House she hath never gained any other
subsequent Settlement either by renting house paying
Taxes or living a hired Yearly Servant for one Year
