to wit Elizth. Thorne< no role > Aged upwards of Twenty
Years on her Oath says she never was married Rented
House or paid Taxes Says she lived a hired Yearly Servant
with Mr. Gray at the Hartichoke in Clare Street in the
Parish of St. Clement Danes in the Liberty of Westmr . for
fourteen Months, or thereabouts at the Yearly Wages of four pounds
hath quitted her said Service about four Years ago and
hath not since she quitted the same ever Rented House
paid Taxes or lived a hired Yearly Servant for one Year
And further upon her Voluntary Oath says she is pregnant
with Child or Children which is or are likely to be born a
Bastard or Bastards and to become Chargable to the said
Parish of St. Clement Danes (she being poor and unable
to Maintain the same when born) Says that one John
Waite
< no role > Master of the Moss Yarn Spinning in St. Clement
Workhouse is the Father thereof he having had Carnal
Knowledge of her Body some time in the Month of Augt.
last but the Particular time she does not now remember
and at Sevl. times afterwards at one of which times he got her
with Child of the Child or Children of which she is now
pregnant as aforesaid and that the said John Waite< no role > and no
other person did beget the same and that he is the real
and true Father thereof
