in or about the year 1739 appointed Clerk
of the Parish Church of St. Nicholas in
Bristol & Executed that Office about Eleven
Years-and that he likewise rented
a house of the Yearly Rent of £8 in
Baldwin Street in the sd. parish & lived
therein abt. 3 or 4 years and pd. his
Share to the poor Rate of the sd. parish
of St Nicholas and has not since rented
Ten pounds a Year paid parish Taxes
or otherwise gained a Settlemt. in any
other place to his knowledge or belief
