Infant aged about 20 months upon her Oath saith
that this Examinants Sister Sarah Hannikin late
Sarah Copsey is Grandmother of the said James Mitchell< no role >
the mother of the side Says Rebecca Mitchell< no role >
the mother of the sd. Infant Intermarried with Saml.
Mitchell
< no role > the Father of the said Infant at the
Fleet London upwards of three Years and a half ago
as she has been Informed & believes Says the said Rebecca
Mitchell
< no role > is since dead and that as she hath been
informed & believes the sd. Samuel Mitchell< no role > the
Father of the sd. Infant is a Native of Ireland and
never gained a Settlement in England and cannot
give any Account where he is to be found
Says her Neice the sd. Rebecca Mitchell< no role > never was
an Apprentice or yearly Servant for one Year
rented Ten pounds a Year or paid Parish Taxes
and this Examinant further Says that Dan
Copsey the sd. Sarah Hannikins late husband &
Grandfather to the sd. Infant resided in the
Parish of Doddinhurst in the County of Essex sev
Years (and there dyed) by Virtue of a Certificate
Granted to him by the Church warden and Oversrs.
of the poor of the Parish of Ingatestone in the said
County of Essex bearing Date the 5th. Day of
Septr. 1737 acknowledging the sd. Danl. Copsey< no role >
and Sarah< no role > his Wife with two Children namely.
