(to wit) Elizabeth Carter< no role > Singlewoman
Aged 30 Years or thereabouts Upon Oath
saith that she never was Married that she was
bound an Apprentice to Miss Calton in Sherrard
Street Golden Square in the parish of St James
Westminster in the said County for 3 years with whom she
served only one year of her said time [..]
Mistress & was then seduced & taken away
that since then she has Rented & lived in an
Apartment in Rupert Street in the said parish
of St. James and for three years & paid for the
same (being ready Furnished) One Guniea Weekly
Rent and that since she hath not done any Act
Matter or thing whereby to acquire any other
legal settlement than as aforesaid in the said
parish of St. James And that she is now in
distressed Circumstances & unable to
maintain herselfAnd lastly that
she was in the Workhouse belonging to the sd.
parish of St James for a fortnight
& hath been out only about the
space of one Month
