I ran down to the Water Edge and I drew
a man by his Legs Room the Water Edge
and I told the Boy to run and get some
Assistance to move the deceased out of the
Reach of the Tide and soon afterwards the
Boy returned with two other Persons who
assisted me in concerning the deceased upon
the Bank of the said River and them Examined his Pocket
and found therein one Shillings in Silver &
two Silver Sleeve Button's and one of the
Persons who assisted me in moving him on the
Bank found in his left hand Breaches
Pocket 4½d and 2 farthings and in his Jacket
Pocket a Pocket Knife and a Protection
and some Bills in his Side Pocket, of the
abot. 2 or 3 hours afterwards he was carried
into the Hand Eagle and somebody acquainted
his Friends with the Accident who brot. a Shell
into which he was puts, between, where or by what
he was drowned I know not his Face appeared to be bruised
by rubbing at the bottom of the River but no [..] Marks of Violence
