taken this 6th. day of July 1799 in
the Parish of St. John the Evangelist
at the House of James Empson< no role > the Sign
of the Adam and Eve in the Bowling Alley
Westminster before Anthony Gell< no role > his
Majesty's Coroner for the City & Liberty
aforesaid touching the Death of
William Blake< no role > then and there lying
dead as follow, to Wit.

Mathew Baillie< no role > of [..] Great Windmill Street M: D being sworn
deposeth as follows Vizt That the deceased has lived
with me as a Servant rather more than [..] ten Years
and during that time has been faithful Servant and
any honest Man that for ap [..] the fire of two Months [..]
last he has appeared to le [..] t very dejected and I understand
that his Mother is subject to very low Spirits that
a Sister is also subject to very lo [..] Spirits and that on
Aunt is also so stranger in her Conduct as to be const
dered to be deranged, that of late he has been lying in his
Bed at ten o'Clock in the Morning and clasping his
hunds and appearing to be very which disturbed in his
Mind and has often ran from the Kitchen to the Laundry
and locked himself there in for the Space of a few Minutes
has frequently appeared with a Wildness in his Coren
tena [..] ice which has frighed the Maid Servants that
he has shewed occasionally much irresolution of Conduct
such as he would wish to go behind my Carriage today
and when the Carriage was ready he would say he could not [..]
he has Inndentend Said he had heard Noises (such as Bells ringing)
