Informations of Witnesses taken
this 1st. July 1799 in the Parish of
St. Martins in the Fields at the
House of John Harrison< no role > the Sign of the
Stanhope Arms the Corner of Oxender
Street and James Street Hay market
before Anthy Gill< no role > Coroner for the
said City and Liberty touching the
Death of William Clifton< no role > then and
there lying dead as follow, to Wit.

William Humby< no role > of St. Albans Street
Apothecary being sworn deposeth that
between 7 and 8 o'Clock on Saturday Evening
last (the 29th. of June) he was sent for to
Mr. Falwapers Chymist in the Haymarket
to a Young Man whom he was informed was
in a Fit and when he came then he was
given to understand that the deceased had
over [..] gued himself by coming from Islington
in order to go to the Little Theatre in the
Hay market that he found him in a State of
S [..] faction and that the usual means
for recovering Persons in the State, had
been died but without Effect, that upon
applying his hand to his Wrist and by the
general Appearance of his Countrenance (as
his Eyes were wide open and no Vitsion at all)
he was of opinion that there was an Oppression
uper the Brain, and therefore he open'd a Veir
immediatley
