this 11th. April 1779 in the Parish of
of St. George Hanover Square in the
House of John Tranfield< no role > the Sign
of the Triumphant Chariot in
Piccadilly before Anthony Gell< no role >
Coroner for the said City & Liberty
touching the Death of Richard
Branson
< no role > then and there lying
dead as follow, to Wit.

James Patience< no role > House Surgeon to St. George's Hospital
being sworn deposeth as follows to wit.
That the deceased was brought in to the sd. Hospital
on Saturday Night the 6th. Instant between the born
of seven and eight o'Clock by Person to me unknown
and I was informed that he had fallow from a Ladder
in [..] Place (being & Lamp highter) by
which Accident he fractured his left Legg which
rendered Amputation necessary towards the Poesw [..]
tion of his Life, that notwithstanding every
Attention was paid by me and other Surgeons
belonging to the said Hospital he died on Wednes
-day last the tenth Instant and I am of Opinion
that he died in Consequence of the abovesaid Injury
