Charles Wright< no role > at a Lodger with his
Aunt Mrs. Cummin at the Ship in Crown
Court Strand being sworn deposeth that
the Deceased Named Neil Stephenson< no role >
a Lieutt. in the Nancy land lodged there
for some time past and that he always
approved to be a sober man that last Night
abot. 9 O'Clock he went to bed [..]
[..] rather indisposed and had some
Water Grewell that abot. 6 this Morning
they heard a noise of something falling
down that abot. 8 they discovered a
Blanket hanging out of one of the
Windows in the Room where the deceased
had slept which was up 2 pr. of Strairs and before going into the
Room they found his Cloaths there but
he was not there nor in any part of
the House that at the Window of one
pt. the Stand for Flour Pots was broken
down, that he is informed some Persons
saw a [..] Person wrapped in a Blanket
ran down the Court and plunged into
the Water but further this Deponent
sayeth not

That the deceased was deranged in his
mind and was formed drowned in the
River Thames
