to wit,

An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the House of John Mortlock< no role > the sign of the Angel and Crown in Headen Street in the Parish
of Saint James within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church
of St. Peter, Westminster , in the County of Middlesex , the fourth day of November 1797
in the thirty seventheighth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third,
by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain, France, and Ireland King, Defender of the Faith,
and so forth, before Anthony Gell< no role > , Esq. Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City
and Liberty, on View of the Body of George Ware< no role > then and there
lying dead, upon the Oath of the several Jurors whose Names are here under written, and
Seals affixed, good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly chosen, who being then and
there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the King, when, how, and by
what Means the said George Ware came to his Death, do upon
their Oath say that John Stubbs< no role > late of the Parish aforesaid within the Liberty aforesaid
peruke Maker not having the fear of God before his Eyes but moved and reduced by the Instigation of
the Devil on the third day of October in the year aforesaid with force and Arms at the
Parish aforesaid in the Liberty aforesaid in and upon the said George Ware in the
Peace of God and of our said Lord the King then and there being feloniously
wilfully and of his Malice fore thought did make an Assault. And that he the
said John Stubbs with some causing instrument (to these jurors unknown) which he
the said John Stubbs then and there had and held in his right hand,
him the said George Ware in and upon the head of him the said George Ware
then and there feloniously wilfully and of his Malice forethought, did strike
stab and penetrate. And that the said John Stubbs did then and there give
give unto him the said George Ware in & upon the head of him the said George Ware
with the Instrument aforesaid a Mortal Wound; of which said Mortal Wound
he the said George Ware did languish & languishing did live until the third
day of November in the year aforesaid: on which said Third day of November in the
Year aforesaid at the Parish & in the Liberty aforesaid he the said George Ware of the
Mortal Wound did die. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their oath aforesaid do say
that the said John Stubbs him the said George Ware in manner and by the means aforesaid feloniously
wilfully and of his Malice afore thought did Kill and Murder against the peace of our said Lord the King his Crown
and Dignity. And that the said John Stubbs after the doing and committing of the said Felony
and Murder withdrew and fled for the same. And that theat the time of the doing and committing
thereof or at any time since he had no Goods or Chattels Lands or Tenements within the sd Liberty
or elsewhere to the knowledge or Notice of the said Jurors.

IN WITNESS whereof, as well the said Coroner as the said Jurors, have to this Inquisition
set their Hands and Seals the Day, Year, and Place first above written.
