30 August 1797 at the Dwelling House
of Edwd. Carr< no role > the Sign of the Fox in Kinghtsbridge parish of
St. George Hanover Square on view of the Body of Elizabeth
Timberlake< no role > then & there lying dead
Gilbert Green< no role > Soldier a private 2d Regt of Guards
being sworn saith that he is employed to clean the Clumps
& weeds near Bridge pond yesterday he saw the deced
sitting on the Bridge between 11 & 12 o'clock she was
not in company with any person she staid there
till he went to Dinner at 10 o'Clock. this dept returned
to same that a little after 2 o'Clock she was then
there-abot. 20 Minutes after this Dept saw the Stick
with which she walkedstandstanding against
the wall of the Bridge - this Dept. & his Comrade
& others went immediately to the pond & there saw
the deced floating upon the Water - she was
immediately taken out & brot. her to this House
Medical assistance was immediately sent for
who made very effort to restore her to life but to
no effect she was warm when taken out of the
water her high Shoes was left with the Crutch it
waslacedmade to lace up the leg.
