and about half past upon asked their
Deponent if he had called his Brother Wm.
Scarman
< no role > up to which he answer'd yes at
which time the deceased was come down
Stairs into the Parlour, that about three
of the Clock in the Afternoon of the same
day Miss Scarman called to this Deponent
to come to her Father who was then on the
First Floor, and who desired this Deponent
to go up Stairs to the 2d. Floor and force
open the door of the Room where the deced
has of late slept, which was made fast
on the inside from which Circumstance
Mr. Scarman was very apprehensive
that some Accident had happen'd to
him, whereupon this Deponent went
and Mr. Scarman following [..] up Stairs and burst open the Door Mr. Scarman being then at the door when they observed the deceased lying on
his back upon the Floor and a great
deal of Blood about his head and on
the Floor and a Pistol on the Drawing,
at which then appeared to be tying of life in deced
near to [..] , Upon which this Deponent
went immediately for Dr. Harveyside why
came immediately to under assistance
thatthis deponent observed as soon as he
had entr'd thatthe deceased hada Pistol had
been fired out into his Head was then was a
hole under his right Ear
this deponent farther sayeth that the deceased
continued in a lanquishing State but over sensible from the
time he first entr'd the room untill abot.
20 minutes after seven o'Clock [..] last night
(the 5th. Instt.) when he expired

That on Monday last the 2d. Instant about
3 o'Clock in the afternoon he wascalled in desired
to attend the deceased and when he came he
found that the deceased had shot himself
that he was insensible and his Extremeties
cold and labouring under the immediate
Effects of the Accident which were those of a
Pressure on the Brain, that there appeared to be
a Wound under his Right Ear and from that he
endeavoured to discover where a Stay which had
entired then was [..] gone in order that he might
[..]
