An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the House of Thomas Jones< no role > the Sign of the Bricklayers Arms in Duke Street Grosvenor Square
Parish of St. George Hanover Square . within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church
of St. Peter, Westminster , in the County of Middlesex , the Sixth day of August 1795
in the thirty fifth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third,
by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain, France, and Ireland King, Defender of the Faith,
and so forth, before Anthony Gell< no role > , Esq. Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City
and Liberty, on View of the Body of Robert Lawless< no role > then and there
lying dead , upon the Oath of the several Jurors whose Names are here under written, and
Seals affixed, good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly chosen, who being then and
there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the king, when, how, and by
what Means the said Robert Lawless cane to his Death, do upon
their Oath say that the Said Robert Lawless on the fourth day of
August in the year aforesaid at the Parish and in the Liberty
aforesaid being upon a certain shed over the Door Way of the House
of Mr Burgoyne in Duke Street aforesaid then and there cleaning
the Shew board which was over the said Door Way It so happened
that accidentally casually and by Misfortune the fastening of
the said Shew. board become loose in the Wall by means whereof
the said robert Lawless together with the said Shew board then
and there fell down upon the Flag Stores in the Street and by
Means whereof he the said Robert Lawless< no role > then and there
received a Mortal Fracture in his Scull of which said mortal
Fracture he the Said Robert Lawless then and there instantly
dead And so the Jurors aforesaid upon then Oath
aforesaid do say that the said Robert Lawless in manner
and by the Means aforesaid accidentally casually
and by Misfortune came to his Death & not otherwise

IN WITNESS whereof, as well said Coroner as the said Jurors, have to this Inquisition
set either Hands and Seals the Day, Year, and Place first above written.
