Informations of Witness taken this
16th. July 1794 in the Parish of St James
at the Dwelling House of Mr Howard the
Sign of the Angel in Heddon street Swallow street before Anthony Gele< no role >
one of the Coroners forth said County touching
the Death of Robert Tilling< no role > then & there lying
Dead

John Dodimead< no role > of Heddon Court Swallow Street Shoe
maker being sworn deponth that between 5 or 6 o' Clock
Yesterday Eveng (the 15th Vist) he being in the Shop at
Work, heard a great knocking on the 1st Floor over his
head and something fall very heavy on the Floor
and heard the said of a Woman crying out murder
whereupon heunderan up Stairs and when he enter'd
the Room he saw the deceased lying on his back
upon the Floor where upon he took some Water
out of a Pitcher and there if upon his Face Etc
but there appeared then to be no signs of life in the
deceased he however ran immediately to an
Apothecary whoandcame and finding no
pulsation declared it was useless to try any
means for his Recovery as he was quite dead
This Deponent was informed by the Wife of the deced
that he had beoyed himself with a Leather Strap
