An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint John the Evangelist Westminster
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middleslex, the First day of October 1792 in the thirty second
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great-Britain, France, and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Anthony

View of the Body of Margaret Yates< no role > then and there lying dead , upon
the Oath of Thomas Simpson< no role > , James Randall< no role > , William Jones< no role > , William

good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Margaret Yates< no role > came to
her Death, do upon their Oath say That the said Margaret yates< no role > not
being of sound Mind, Memory and Understanding bit [..]
lunatic and distracted, on the twenty Ninth day of September
in the Year foresaid at the Parish and in the Liberty aforesaid
To Wit in the River Thames there did cast and throw herself by
Means of which said casting and Throwing she the said Margaret
yates
< no role > , in the Waters of the said River, was then and there
suffocated and dreamed of which said suffocation and Drowning she the
Margaret yates< no role > then and there instantly died. And so the Jurors
aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the said
Margaret yates< no role > , in Manner and by means aforesaid, not
being of sound Mind, Memory and Understanding, but lunatic
and distracted, came to her Death and not otherwise In
Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said Thomas
Simpson
< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors on the behalf of himself
and the restof his said Fellows in their Presence have to the
Inquisition set their bands and Seals the Day, Year and Place
above Written.
