County of Midsex }

Informations taken this Thirtieth
day of March 1789 at the Parish of
St. George Hanover Square with in the
Liberty of Westmr. in the County of Midsex
upon an Inquisition touching the death
of Elizabeth Littal< no role > lying dead in the
said Parish Liberty and County.

John Mc Dowall< no role > Butler to Jeremiah
Crutchley
< no role > of Charges Street in the Parish of
St. George Hanover Square Esqr. on his Oath
saith that Elizabeth Little< no role > the Deced
was Cook to Mr. Crutchley and had lived there
fifteen Years upwards and in the Summer
had the care of the House, Says that this
Morning about Eight o'Clock Dept. came down
and observing that the Deced had not opened
the Windows and lighted the Fire as usual
Sent upon one of the Servants to call the
Deced Dept. imgaining that she was in Bed
but the Man said that Deced's Sister, with
whom she Slept, said that Deced had been
down some time, Says that he and the
other Servants Searched for the Deced
and that Mr. Gibson went unto the small
Beer Cellar and immediately alarmed the
Servants who went there and standing
at the Door saw the Deced Hanging by a
small Cord which was fastened around
the Deced's Neck and [..] an Iron Key,
Says that Joseph Goodall< no role > one of the
Footmen with a Knife cut the cord by which
the Deced was Hanging and [..] assisted
to carry her into the Hall where she was
laid on a Table appearing to be dead, says
that Mr. Well the Apothecary's Man came
