An Inquitition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King, at the Parish of Saint James
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster
in the County of Middlesex , the Fifth day of September in the thirty first
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great-Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas
Prickard
< no role > , Gentleman , Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on
View of the Body of Samuel Crabb< no role > then and there lying dead , upon
the Oath of Daniel Hay< no role > , John Bingley< no role > , Peter Price< no role > , George Clarke< no role >
John Peach< no role > , Richard Hophins< no role > , John Davyer< no role > , William Staines< no role > ,
Edward Turner< no role > , John Crosier< no role > , John Skinner< no role > , Edward Harvey< no role >
Walter Keynoldes< no role > , John Newcourt< no role > , and Robert Tipper< no role >
Good and Lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Samuel Crabb< no role > came to
his Death, do upon their Oath say, That the said Samuel Crabb< no role > on the first
day of September in the Year aforesaid being in the stable of Thomas Keate< no role >
situate in Masons Yard in the said Parish of St. James within the Liberty and
County aforesaid and these with both his Hands did strike a certain Bay Horse
standing in the said Stable, whereupon the said Horse with both his hinder Feet
did kick at and against the said samuel Crabb< no role > , and that the said Samuel Crabb< no role >
thereby Accidentally Casually and by Misfortune did then and these receive in and
upon his Intestines on mortal Bruise of which said mortal Briuse he the said
Samuel Crabb< no role > from the said first day of September in the Year aforesaid until the
Third day of the same Month and Year at the said Parish of St. James within
the Liberty and County aforesaid did languish and languishing did live on which
said Third day of September in the Year aforesaid at the Parish and in the Liberty
and County aforesaid he the said Samuel Crabb< no role > of the a mortal Bruise aforesaid
did die, And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say
that the said Samuel Crabb< no role > in manner and by the means aforesaid Accidentally
Casually and by Misfortune came to his Death and not otherwise

In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner
as the said Daniel Hay Foreman of the said Jurors on the behalf
of himself and the rest of his Fellows in their presence have to this
Inquisition set their Hands and Seals the Day Year and Place
abovementioned
