there were five Persons in Beds in the same
Garrett, and Deponent walked them all and gave
a particular charge to them more particularly to Same to be attentive to
the DeceasedDeponent, and then went himself to Bedin about
half an hour, or Sometime after he was called, and
went up to the Garrett where the Deceased was
and saw the Deceased drawing his last Breath
Mr. Dugard was Sitting on a Bed opposite the Door
the Persons he left were all there particularly the [..]
Person called Sam a Lodger was sitting on the side
of the Bed by the Deceased with oil and Salt and
Water, and Sam said they and Mr. Dugard had been
usedusing it. and an Apothecary was sent for, but
the Deceased was Dead before the Apothecary came
Deponent says the Deceased was subject to a
complaint in his Stomach of the Gent Kind, and
frequently has fallen down and has been in a
State of Insensibility

Samuel Clubb< no role > a Lodger in the Deceaseds House on
his Oath saith, that on Wednesday Morning last about
Three o Clock the Deceased was brought by Mr. Sterling

into the Garrett where the Deponent was in Bed, and
the Deceased immediately laid hold of and clenched the
Bed Posts,andhe appeared to Deponent to be very much
in Liquor,Deponent assisted in getting the Deceased or
the Bed, and promised Sterling at his desire to take
all possible care of himDeponent soon finding the
Battles in the Deceased's Throat sent for Mr Sterling
and the Deceaseds Wife , and put sweet Oil and Salt
and Water down his Throat, and then went for an
Apothecary who came with himbut the Deceased was
Dead on his ReturnDeponent says the Deceased was
much given to drink a great quantity of Brandy,
more particularly if any thing fretted or vexr him
and Deponent beleives his Death was occasioned
by excessive drinking of Brandy. and remembers
the Deceased once in a fit occasiond by his Drinking
of Brandy.

in the Afternoon, as he was hanging up a Lamp, and
