An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King, at the Parish of George Hanover Square
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church St. Pater Westminster
in the County of Middlesex , the Twelfth day of November in the Thirtieth
Year of the Regin of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas
Prickard
< no role > , Gentleman, Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City and Liberty, on
View of the Body of William Adams< no role > then and there lying dead, upon
the Oath of Samuel Strong< no role > , Thomas Miles< no role > , John Coventry< no role > , John

< no role > and James White< no role > good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said William Adams< no role > came to
h is Death do upon their Oath say, That on the said Twelfth day of
November in the Year aforesaid the said William Adams< no role > and
Three other Men were docking the Tail of a certain Black House
in the Stable Yard of James Spencer< no role > , Situate in Oxford Street in
the said Parish of Saint George Hanover Square within the
Liberty and County aforesaid, It so happened that the said Black
Horse kicked with his hinder feet, and the said William Adams< no role > Standing
behind the said Horse thereby then and there Accidentally Casually and
by Misfortune did receive a mortal Bruise in and upon his Stomach
of which said mortal Bruise he the said William Adams< no role > then and
there died. And so Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid, do
say that the said William Adams< no role > in manner and by the Means
aforesaid Accidentally Casually and by misfortune came to this Death
and not otherwise.In Witness whereof as well the said
Coroner as the said Samuel Strong< no role > Foreman of the said Jurors on
the behalf of himself and the rest of his Fellows in their Presence
have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals the Day year
and Place abovementioned
