day of April 1789 at the Parish
of St. George Hanover Square
within the Liberty of Westmr .
in the County of Midsex upon
an In quistions touching the
death of Thomas Martin< no role > lying
dead in the sat Parish Liberty
and County

William Clark< no role > of [..] Gorsvener Street
Carpenter on his Oath saith That Thomas
Martin
< no role > the Deceds was likewise a Carpenter
and Yesterday worked for this Dept. on
a House in Grosvener Muse in the
Parish of St. George Hanover Square
That the Deced and another Man
were taking the Tiles off the lower part
of the House near the Eves, Says that
the Deced was standing upon a Scaffold
and the other Man upon the Ladder Says
that about three o'Clock Yesterday in
the Afternoon Dept. was informed that
the Deced and the Other Man were
fallen down and hurt, upon which
Dept. went to the House and saw the Deced
[..] on the Ground and his Back
[..] up by a Young Man, the Deced
not being able to speak or move, and
breathed very hard, Says that he sent
for a Surgeon to blead Deced who came immediately
but said that it was too late, and that the
Deced was dead, Says that he was than
informed that the Scaffold on which the
Deced stood broke and a few Boards
come down, and Dept. believes that the
Deced
