Informations taken this fifteenth
day of November 1787 at the Parish
of St. George Hanover Square within
the Liberty of Westmr . in the County
of Midsex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of Peter, Clenty [..]
lying dead in the said Parish Liberty
and County.

William Lambert< no role > at Mr. Scott the Sign of
the Row in Broken Cross Westmr . Laborer
on his Oath saith, That Yesterday between
fourtwo andfourthree o'Clock in the Afternoon this
Dept. was going over the Water Works Bridge
in the Parish of St. George Hanover Square
and looking over the Wooden Rails of the
Bridge ha saw the Deced in the Water
close to the Bridge on the lower side, with
a large piece of Timber upon his Thigh
and lower part of his Body the Deced lying
on his Back, Says that two Laborers were
fetched who with a Cord tied the Deced
to one of the Piles there to prevent the
Tide taking him away, the Deced being
dead, but Dept. observed no Marks of
violence upon the Deced,
