Informations taken this thirteenth
day of February 1787 at the Parish
of St. Margaret within the Liberty
of Westmr . in the County of Midsex
upon an Inquisition touching the
death of James Atkins< no role > lying dead
at the said Parish Liberty & County

Thomas Preston< no role > of Gardener's Lane Petty
France Westmr. Blacksmith on his Oath
Saith, That on some day in Decr. last
Isaac Preston< no role > Depts. Father James Bartlet< no role >
John Clark< no role > and this Dept. were lifting
up a new Cart in Blue Anchor Yard
in the Parish of St. Margaret Westmr
in order to put it upon the Wheels
Says that the Prop which they had put
to support the Cart happened to step
and [..] the and of the Iron Axlltree Struck
against the left foot upon the Joseph
of James Atkin< no role > the Deced and cut it
open, made a large Wound which blad
much, Says that he assisted to carry the
Deced immediately to the Westmr. Hospital
and that the hurt which the Deced reced
was merely Accidental

Charles Taylor< no role > House Surgeon at the Wesmtr.
Hospital in the Parish of St. Margaret Westmr.
on his Oath saith, That on the Twentieth day
of December last the Deced was brought
to said Hospital as an Accident, having
a Wound upon the Instep of his, left foot
Says that all proper care was taken of the
Deced in the Hospital by Mr. Shelder and
