Informations taken this Ninth day
of February 1787 at the Parish of St. Martin
in the Fields within the Liberty of Westmr .
in the County of Midsex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of Richard Williams< no role >
lying dead in the said Parish Liberty
and County.

Robert Mason< no role > he Corner of Craven Street in
the Strand Watchmaker on his Oath saith that
about a Quarter after Eight last Night Dept.
was passing through Lancaster Court in the
Parish of St. Martin in the Fields when he
saw Richard Williams< no role > the Deced lying upon
his Back with his Head towards the Iron Gate
and his Head towards the Vestry Wall, and his
Hat on the Ground on his left side Says that
there was no Person near the Deced
That he supposed the Deced to be in Liquor
Spoke to him but had no Answer, felt
the Deced's Hand which was Cold, Says that
he went to the Watchhouse and acquianted
the Beadle there, who with another Man
went with Deponent to the Deced, Says
that the Man carried the Deced to the
Watchhouse, being unable to move himself
Says that the Deced then appeared to be
dead and Dept. saw the End of the Deced's
Stock bloody, Says that Mr. Man waring an
Apothecary was fetched, who said that the
Deced was dead but did not examine
much, And Dept, think it possible that the
Deced might Accidentally by a fall receive
the Wound on the back part of his Head,
and Fracture his Scull, which Dept. this
day observed to have happened.
