An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint Margaret
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Sixth day of February in the twenty seventh
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great-Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas
Prickard
< no role > , Gentleman , Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on
View of the Body of Mary Evaridge then and there lying dead, upon

< no role > , and George Beecher< no role > good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Mary Evaridge< no role > came to
h er Death, do upon their Oath say , That the said twenty sixth day of January in
the Year aforesaid William Cole< no role > was driving a Certain Dust Cart drawn
by three horses in Charles Street in the Parish aforesaid within the
Liberty and County aforesaid, And that the said Mary Evaridge was
then crossing the said Street and being seized with a dizziness in
her head, fell down before and near unto the off Wheel of the said
Cart, And that the Off Wheel, of the said Cart passed over the Right leg
and Thigh of her the said Mary Evaridge whereby the said Mary
Evaridge did then and there Accidentally Casually and by misfortune
receive divers Contusions and Lacerations in and upon her said a
Right leg and Thigh of which said mortal Contusions and Lacerations
she the said Mary Evaridge from the said twenty sixth day of January
in the Year aforesaid untill the fourth day of February in the same Year
at the Parish aforesaid within the Liberty and County aforesaid did
languish and languishing did live on which said fourth day of
February she the said Mary Evaridge at the Parish and in the Liberty
and County aforesaid of the Mortal Contusions and lacerations aforesaid
did die. And so the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say
That the said Mary Evaridge in manner and by the Means aforesaid
accidentally Casually and by Misfortune came to her death
In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said Joseph Ashmore< no role >
Foreman of the said Jurors on the behalf of himself and the rest of his
fellows in their presence have to this Inquisition set their Hands
and Seals the Day Year and Place abovementioned.
