Informations taken this Fifth day of February
1787 at the Parish of St. John the Evangelist
within the Liberty of Westmr . in the County
of Midsex upon an Inquisition touching
the death of Sarah Beaver< no role > an Infant
lying dead in the said Parish Liberty
and County.

Sarah Wilmot< no role > a Lodger at Thomas Farmer< no role > in
Rochester Row in the Parish of St. John the Evangelist
Westmr. Widow on her Oath Saith That on Saturday
last the Third Instant about two o'Clock in the
afternoon Dept. was in her Apartment when a Boy
in a Green Coat in going out broke Dept. Window
upon which she went out after him, and fell
down and hurt her Hand, which bled Says that
she went into her Apartment and the Deced
Sarah Beaver< no role > the Infant (Aged about four Years
whom Dept. Nursed) said to Dept. go to Un [..]
and(meaning the Plough) and put some
Gin upon it upon which Dept. went out
having the Deced in the Room alone, there
being a little Fire, in the Grate, and Dept
was going to Ironing, Says that in about
a Quarter of an hour Dept. was informed that
the Deced was Burnt very much upon which
she went home and found the Deced's Cloaths
in Flames and the Child very much burnt
in the Body, Says that the Child told her that
she took a Match one of the Drawer and light
it, that her Cloaths took Fire, Says that on
Apothecary was fetched who an [..] the Child
with Oil, but Deced was so much Burnt
that she died about six o'Clock the sameday
and Dept. believes that it happened Accidentally
