An Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King at the Parish of Saint Margaret
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Eighteenth day of January in the Twenty seventh
Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of
Great-Britain, France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so fourth, before Thomas
Prickard

good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said Henry Lea came to
h is Death, upon their Oath say That the said Henry Lea not being of sound
Mind Memory and Understanding but Lunatic and Distracted, on the Seventeenth day of
January in the Year aforesaid, at the Parish aforesaid in the liberty and County aforesaid
[..] of Small Cord unto a Brass Hook faster [..] into the Wainsert
in a Room in the Dwelling House of the said Henry Lea Situate on Brewers Green
in the said Parish Liberty and County and the other and thereof about his own Neck did
Fix tye and fasten, and therewith did then and there Hang Suffocate and Strangle
himself of which said Hanging Suffocation and Strangling he the said Henry Lea
then and there Died. And to the Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say. That
the said Henry Lea not being of sound Mind Memory and Understanding but Lunatic and
Distracted in manner and by the Means aforesaid did Kill himself. In Witness whereof
as well the said Coroner as the Foreman of the Jurors aforesaid, or behalf of himself and
the rest of the said Jurors have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals the Day Year
and at the Place abovementioned.
