Informations taken this First day
of March 1786 at the Parish of St.
George Hanover Square within the Liberty
of Westmr . in the county of Midsex
upon an Inquisition touching the death
of William Martin< no role > lying dead in the
said Parish Liberty and County.

William Helders< no role > of Carpenter Street in the
Parish of St. George Hanover Square Silk Dyer
on his Oath saith That William Martin< no role > the
Deced has lived about four Years as an
Apprentice with this Dept. Says that on Monday
last about Four o' Clock in the Afternoon
Dept. sent another Apprentice to his work shop
with some Silk for the Deced who was there
Says that the Boy returned immediately
to Dept, [..] erying and said that William
was Hanging upon which Dept. went into
the Work shop and saw Deced Hanging there by
a Hair Ling which was Fastened to an
Iron Wall Hook drove into the Wooden
Quarter, and about the Deced's Neck Says
That he Cut the Line with a Knife and
let the Deced down, Says that he sent for
an Apothecary , and two of them come & bled
the Deced and endeavoured to restore the
Deced to a [..] but in [..] ain, and they said
that it was too late and Dept. believes
that the Deced Hanged himself, And that
Dept. says that some [..] past he found
Deced in some Kind of Kit in the Workshop
being quite he [..] less, and that he [..] ook made
and complained of his Head and Back, and
lays that the Deced had two or three more [..]
on that and the Following day, and was then
taken from by his Father
