Informations taken this Sixth day
of February 1786 at the Parish of St.
Margaret within the Liberty of Westmr .
in the County of Midsex upon an Inquisitn.
touching the death of Richard Edwards< no role >
an Infant lying dead in the said Parish
Liberty and County.

Mary< no role > the Wife of Thomas Edwards< no role > a Lodger at
Henry Brain< no role > of Tothill Street in the Parish
of St. Margaret Westmr . on her Oath saith that
on Thursday last the Second Instant Dept. left
Richard Edwards< no role > her Child (Aged about three
Years.) in her Room which she went to
the Butcher in Bridge Street , being about
two o Clock in the Afternoon Says that she
left the Room Door open and some Fire
in the Grate, Says that she returned
in a Quarter of an hour at farthest
and when she was going up Stairs she
heard the Child Cry out, saying have
done, the Room being in a smother
Says that the Child lay upon the Bed
and his Cloaths on Fire, says that the
Child was very much burnt upon the
Right side and the right Arm, & St [..]
and that she carried him to the Westmr.
Hospital where it was Dressed, and Dept
took it home to her Room where it languished
until Friday the Thirty and there died about
two o'Clock in the Afternoon, in consequence
of his being burnt.
