observed no Marks of violence upon
the Deced but his Nose was Grazed a
little, by the Gravel as Dept. believes.

White Smith< no role > , on his Oath saith. That on
Sunday Morning last (the Nineteenth Instant)
Thomas Rowland< no role > the Deced and this Dept.,
(who were Fellow Apprentices) about four
o'Clock went to Bath themselves in the
River Thames , underfud themselves
in a Barge, near Smith's Gardens, with
two other Apprentices, and Deced
went into the River, and having gone
a little Way he attempted to Swim
but turned about being out of his Depth
and called to Dept. who immediately went
in and when Deced came up Depedt.
got hold of his Hand but was not able
to get him towards the Shore Says that
he did not see the Deced afterwards
Says that there was no Person in the
River with the Deced when he sunk
and that he was Accidentally Drowned
