Informations taken this Twenty
-seventh day of April 1784 at the Parish of
St. Martin in the Fields within the Liberty of
Westmr . in the County of Midsex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of Elizabeth Phillips< no role > lying
dead in the said Parish Liberty and County.

Robert Finlayson< no role > Shoemaker a Lodger at
Mr. John Phillips< no role > in little Moors Yard in the Parish
of St. Martin in the Fields on his Oath saith That
Yesterday near two o'Clock Dept. was at Work in
his Room when he heard Peggy Phillips< no role > , (Deced's
Daughter) scream out upon which he went down
Stairs, and saw the Deced lying on her Back
upon the Floor in her own Room, and a great
deal of Blood upon her Cloaths the Child saying
that her Mother had Cut her Throat Deced there
lying still Says that he sent immediately for a Surgeon
who came, and said that he could not do any
thing to save Life, Dept. then saw a large Wound
in Deceds Throat Says that Mr. Jarvis another
Surgeon came who Sewed up the Wound and orderd Deced
to be carried in a Coach to the Middlesex Hospital .
Deced being then alive but could not speak
Says that Deced was put into a Coach and Dept.
went with her, and Deced's Daughter, but Deced
died
