left Arm of the Female Child was broke
Says that she carried both the Children to
the Parish Work house and left them there.

Thomas Williams< no role > of Broad Street Surgeon
on his Oath saith That he this day Examined
two Children, a Male and Female, at the
Work house belonging to the Parish of St. James
Westminster , and observed a very small
wound on the Right Temple of the Boy
and a small Bruise on the left Cheek of
the Girl, but neither of them could cause
the Death of either of the Children, Says that
both the Children were come to Maturity
but the usual care was not taken to
preserve Life, the Navel Strings not being
tyed, but rather appearing to be torn
Says that he cannot say whether the Children
were born alive or not.

Charles Newby< no role > of Poland Street in the Parish
of St. James Westmr. Surgeon on his Oath saith
That he has this day Examined a new born
Male Child and a new born Female Child
in the Parish Work house, and observed
that the whole Head of the Boy was Swelled
particularly under the Right Ear, which
Dept. thinks was caused by the Birth
the Head being very large, Says that from
the general appearance of both the Children
Dept. thinks that they were born alive
Says that neither of the Navel Strings
were tyed and Dept. thinks it possible
that might cause the death of both the
Children from the loss of Blood.
