Informations of Witnesses taken upon Oath
this 6th. day of August 1782, at the Dwelling
House of Mrs.Douglas known by the Sign
of the Golden Lyon at Hyde Park corner in the
Parish of St. George Hanover Square in the Liberty
of Westminster , on View of the Body of Richard
Slaughter
< no role > lying Dead in St. George's Hospital
in the said Parish and Liberty. Before Thos. Prickard< no role >
Gentleman His Majesty's Coroner for the said City and
Liberty of Westminster

Julius Griffith< no role > House Surgeon of St. George's Hospital on his
Oath saith That on Tuesday night last about 8 oClock the Deced
was brought into the Hospital, at that time rather senseless
but when recovered from that appeared to be in Liquor, had a
contused Wound on the Forehead, Deponent [..] enlarged the Wound
and discovered a Transverse Fracture of the OS Frontis, Deced
was Trepanned that Evening by Mr. Hawkins Surgeon of the
Hospital, the bad Symptom not having left him it was
thought necessary to trepan him again two days after, notwithstanding
which he lingered till Sunday Morning last and then Died.
