Informations taken this Twenty sixth
day of July 1782 at the Parish of St. Margaret
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County of
Middlesex upon an Inquisition touching
the death of Henry Ballowe< no role > Esqr . lying dead

Mary Whiting< no role > Servant to Henry Ballowe< no role > Esqr . deced
on her Oath saith That about Eleven o'Clock this
Morning Mr. Shirley came to Shave the Deced
thisas usual, Says that Mr. Shirley went up Stairs
into the Dining Room and called to Deced desiring
to know if he would be shaved, Dept. being at the
Door, the Deced being in his Bed chamber adjoining
Says that Mr. Shirley having no Answer came out
saying that he believed the Deced was asleep
and went down Stairs, Says that upon that
Dept. went up again and looking into Deced
Bed chamber said the Deced lying down upon
the Floor there with his Head near the Drawers
Says that he went down immediately saying
that she believed her Master was dead, and
Dept. some time after saw Blood upon the
Floor where Deced lay, and Dept. believes
that the Deced shot himself. Says that the
Deced has been low Spirited for some time
past.
