the Handkerchief and Deced fell down
appearing to be dead, Says that Mr. Strutt
and another Surgeon were fetched, who
Used their Endeavors for some time to
restore her to Life but without Effect
the Deced being dead but not quite Cold.
and Dept. believes that the Deced hanged
herself, Says that the Deced was sometimes
very Merry and Chearful, and at other
times very Melancholy and low Spirited
and frequently Crying, And Dept. from the
Deced's behaviour for the last Month, does
believe that she was at times Discovered
in her Mind

John Burgess Gurney< no role >

William Cummins< no role > Servant to Mr. Merrick
in Parliamt. Street Westmr. on his Oath saith
That he was last Night between Nine and Ten
oClock at Mr. Gurneys the Red Lyon in
the same Street when he saw Mr. Gurney
endeavouring to open the Kitchen Door, that
he took and From Poker there and that another
Man forced open the Door, upon which Mr.
Gurney went in and Dept. followed when
he saw Mr. Gurney cut the Handkerchief
by which the Deced was Hanging, and which
was fastened to part of the Jack there
Says that Deced appeared to be Dead. but
that some Means were used to restore her
without effect. Says that the Key was in
the Lock on the inside of the Door and Dept.
believes that the Deced Hanged herself.
