Informations taken this Nineteenth
day of April 1779 at the Parish of St. George
Hanover Square within the Liberty of Westmr
in the County of Midsex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of Samuel Bastick< no role >
lying dead on the said Parish Liberty
and County.

Watkin Williams< no role > at Mr. Maring in five fields
Row Chelsea Shoemaker on his Oath saith That
on Saturday last (April 17th.) between four and five
o Clock Dept. was at Work and being informed that
the Deced had shot himself he went to the Room
Door which was Locked, he peopled throughthe
Key
a hole he saw the Deced lying upon his Back
on the Floor with Smoak upon his Breast
Says that the Room Door was forced open and
Mrs. Howe Dept. and Others went in and found
the Deced lying on the floor with a Wound in
his Belly a little above the Navel the Shirt
upon his Belly being on Fire Says that a Piece
Was on the Floor under the Deced, the Room being
full of Smoak and smelt of Gunpowder, Says
that the Deced was dead and Dept. believes that
he shot himself.

Christian< no role > the Wife of John Howe< no role > of Chelsea on her
Oath saith, That on Saturday last in the Afternoon
Dept. was informed that the Deced had shot himself
and went to the Room Door which was Locked and
the Key in the Lock on the inside of the Door, Says
that she assisted to force open the Door and on
going in saw the Deced lying on his Back on the
Floor with a Wound in his Belly and his Shirt
on Fire, Says that the Deced was dead, and that
she believes the Deced shot himself, And this
Dept.
