Informations taken this Thirty first
day of December 1778 at the Parish of St.
Anne within the Liberty of Westmr. in the
County of Midsex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of William Molloy< no role > lying
dead in the said Parish Liberty & County

Gaven Pile< no role > a Patrol belonging to the Parish
of St. Ann Westmr. on his Oath Saith, That on
Tuesday night last between Eleven & Twelve o'Clock
Dept. was going around the Parish and
saw William Molley< no role > the Deced (who was a
Watchman) at the Sign of the George in
Chapel Street in said Parish not appearing
to be in Liquor, Says that between Twelve
and One o'Clock they were going along
Wardour Street, and seeing some Fire in the
Ruins of House that had been burnt down
by Fire there Dept. Partner said that he
heard a Groan there, and on getting a
Light they saw the Deced lying on his face
in the Ruins in the Cellar at the House
with this Head towards the Street Says that
he spoke to the Deced who made no Answer
Says that he went to the Watchhouse to acquaint
the Constable therewith, and the Beadle went
with Dept. to the Deced, who was by that time
dead as Dept. believes Says that a Coach was fetched to carry
the Deced to the Middlesex Hospital , Says that the
Deced was soon after brought to the Watchhouse, and
Dept. went to the Poorhouse, and assisted to carry
the Deced up Stairs, He being dead, and Dept, thinks
that any Person might Accidentally fall down there
nothing being then Nailed to prevent Accidents
