Informations taken this Thirtieth day
of December 1778 at the Parish of St. James
within the Liberty of Westmr. in the County of
Middlesex upon on Inquisition touching the
death of Thomas Whittle< no role > lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County.

Thomas Layborn< no role > a Lodger at Mrs. Lawyp in [..]
Carnaby Neat in the Parish of St. James Westrmr.
Stone Mason on his Oath saith That Thomas Whittle< no role >
for Deced lodged in the two pair of stairs aforesaid
in the said House and every with this Dept.
Says that on Sunday Night last Decr, 21) believes
Ten & Eleven o'Clock Dept. being in Bed, heard the
Deced come up Stairs and open his Room Door
and afterwards in his Room Says that he heard
about Eleven o'Clock some Rumbling in Deced
Boom which he thought was the Deced putting his
Cloaths into a Crest but Dept. heard no Person
in the Room with Deced and Says that he
heard the Deced Lock the Room Door when he
first went in Says that he heard nothing
were of the Deced until Monday Evening between
six & Seven o'Clock when he Deced [..]
came up stairs and knocked several times at
Deced's Room Door, the Deced saying Sometime
but Deced could not tell what it was Says that
the taker woman fetched up Mrs. Lowry who
called several times and at last insisted upon
from open the Door, when the Deced said
that he would open the Door which he did, the
Door being locked and the Key in the Lock on
the Made of the Door, Says that he saw the Deced
then Sitting on the side of the Bed in his Shirt
which was very Bloody, Says that in a few
Minutes and the Man came there and Dept.
went into the Room, Says that seeing the
Deced Bloody Dept. asked him where the was Wound
and
