Informations taken this Tenth day of
November 1778 at the Parish of St. John the
Evangelist within the Liberty of Westmr . in the
County of Midsex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of James Jefferys< no role > lying
dead in the said Parish Liberty & County

Ann Jefferys< no role > now theof Widow of James Jefferys< no role >
the Deced, Lodging at Mr. Rogers in Adam
Diglying Yard in the Parish of St. John the
Evangelist Westmr. on her Oath saith, That she
lived with the Deced and slept with him at
Mrs. Rogers's on Sunday Night last, Says that
she got up yesterday Morning about Eight
o'Clock and soon after went out to work
leaving the Deced alone in Bed, The Deced
saying that he would get up in about an
hour, and go to his Master to see for work
(Deced being a Cobler .) having nothing to do
and would call upon Dept. & Desired her
to put She Door to, Says that in about
two hours Deced was informed that the Deced
had Hanged himself, upon which she came
hours and found the Deced lying upon his
Bed dead, Says that she did not fasten the
Room Door when she went out, but believes
that she Deced Hanged himself, and Says that
he was in a low desponding way yesterday
Morning when she went out, and that they
were in very distressed Circumstances
