In Inquisition Indented, taken for our Sovereign Lord the
King, at the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square
within the Liberty of the Dean and Chapter of the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster ,
in the County of Middlesex , the Thirteenth day of August in the Seventeenth Year
of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, by the Grace of God, of Great-Britain,
France and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before Thomas Prickard< no role > , Gentleman,
Coroner of our said Lord the King for the said City and Liberty, on View of the Body of
William Quinton< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of Josiah
Gibson

good and lawful Men of the said Liberty, duly
chosen, who being then and there duly sworn and charged to enquire for our said Lord the
King, when, how, and by what Means the said William Quinton< no role > came to
h is Death, do upon their Oath say, That the said William Quinton< no role > on the Eleventh day
of August in the Year aforesaid at the Parish and in the Liberty and County aforesaid to wit, at a House New Building
in Hereford Street, being standing on the Area Wall of the said House and Some Workmen then hoisting up of a certain
peice of Timber called a Gvidor of about the length of Twenty feet and Width of One foot, it so happened that the Rope in
the Tackle that was used in hoisting the said Girder broke, and one end of the said Girder fell to and against the said
William Quinton< no role > by means whereof he the said William Quinton accidentally casually and by Misfortune received
Several Violent and Mortal Bruises and Fractures on the Hughs and Knees of him the said William Quinton
which broke and shattered the Bones thereof, of which said Violent and Mortal Bruises and Fractures he the said
William Quinton< no role > then and there instantly Died. And so the Jurors aforesaid on their Oath aforesaid do say That
the said William Quinton< no role > in manner and by the Means aforesaid accidentally casually and by Misfortune came to
his Death and not otherwise. And that the said Girder was Moving to the Death of the said William Quinton, and
is of the Value of Five Shillings, and is the property of Shim Tooth< no role > of White horse Street Piccadilly in the Liberty and
County aforesaid Carpenter, or of his Assigns. In Witness whereof as wall the said Coroner as the Foreman of the Jurors
aforesaid on behalf of himself and the rest of the said Jurors have to this Inquisition set their Hands and Seals the Day
Year and at the Place first above mentioned.
